How DogWatch® is Installed in Your Yard

To begin the process of installing a hidden fence, our team will visit your house to work with you to determine the ideal containment arrangement for your pet. Once, a configuration is decided upon, a wire is buried in the ground to create the area. We then place an FM radio transmitter in an acceptable location ( your garage, basement, etc.) and link it to the buried line. The transmitter sends out a unique FM radio signal via the buried cable that alerts your pet and prevents them from crossing the line.

Additionally, DogWatch® includes BOTH external and internal Lightning Protection to give your fence and house wiring the best protection possible. Other hidden dog fence makers do not provide dual lightning protection.

The boundary wire may be completely customized to your own specific preferences and needs. Here are a few examples of some of the many possible fence wire installation patterns for our outdoor hidden fences.

Basic Perimeter Loop

The most common configuration for your fence is shown here. The wire is stretched along the entire property boundary to increase the amount of yard space available to your pet. Furthermore, inside the concealed fence boundary, any combination of optional garden, pool, or flower bed loops can be added to "exclude" any locations that you don't want your pet to venture in to.

Hour Glass (Pinch)

This setup "pinches" your yard, dividing it into two hidden fence regions: front yard vs. backyard. The advantage of this type of configuration is that you have the ability to manage your pet more effectively by restricting when they can enter each yard.

Backyard Only

Another option is to restrict your dog's access to only the backyard of your home. The concealed fence wire is placed near to the front of the house to complete the loop and prevent your pet from escaping through the front door or garage. Inversely, this arrangement may be reversed to restrict entry to just the front yard.

Banana Loop

This option will place your hidden fence line along one, two, or three sides of your property. This setup is ideal for situations where conventional, above-ground fencing already exists as a partial yard limit. The benefit of this arrangement is that it protects the front lawn while also optimizing space in the fenced-in yard.

If none of these sample layouts fits your pet(s) or complements your yard, please contact us today to discuss your specific requirements. We'd be happy to come to you and design the best installation and product(s) for you and your pet.
