How DogWatch® Keeps Your Pet Safe

The safety and security of their pets is at the forefront of every pet owner's mind. DogWatch® understands your concerns which is why our hidden fences are both effective and highly safe for pets of all sizes. Veterinarians, pet experts, and dog trainers from all over the world utilize DogWatch® Hidden Fence pet confinement systems.

The concealed fence requires a special "radio collar" that can detect the signal being delivered through the underground wire to be worn by the pet.

When your pet approaches the boundary wire, a loud tone sounds from the collar to notify him/her not to go any farther.

If your pet continues through the audible warning area and enters the correction zone, they will receive a mild correction from the receiver collar. Most dogs learn where the boundary is and stop when they hear the audible warning signal after following an easy training program with flags as a visible marker.

Will the ‘Correction’ Hurt My Dog?

When your dog comes too close to the concealed fence, it delivers a strong static shock - the sort you get from walking in your socks on a carpet and then touching something. It is enough to catch your attention and cause you concern, but it does not harm you.

This alone should be enough to deter most dogs (and cats) from walking into the correction area. The severity of the correction may be easily adjusted, depending on your pet's size and temperament.
